How Mediafly Determines Search Results Order

Mediafly has optimized its search so that users can find the most relevant and important items when searching in the environment. The displayed search results are ordered through a scoring system designed to help users find content that is beneficial to them.

Search Ordering

A score system is assigned to all items which is displayed during a search with the following rules:

• The number of times each document has the exact text increases the relevant importance of the document
• The metadata of all items is searched, and if the text exists in any metadata field, this increases the relative importance of the item
• If the item comes back as “promoted” from our promoted content engine, the system boosts the relative importance of the item
• Once the scores are assigned, the results are sorted by this score, followed by the last modified date of the item
