Intelligence360 Reports consider data first and visualization second. That means you can establish the data you want to see and then decide which visual(s) represent it best. Since data come first, start with Creating & Editing Reports, then come back to this article to set up the Bar Chart visualization.
Bar chart reports allow you to build a bar chart displaying custom content in a pleasing visualization of data. Bar Chart reports offer more than their titular graphic, they also offer itemized graph details. Hovering over data sets and bars within a bar chart produces written, itemized details.

Creating a Bar Chart Report
Card Basics
Visualization Type: Bar Chart
In the Visualization section of the report editor, select Bar Chart as the visualization type.
Bar Chart Type
Select Vertical or Horizontal bar representation, this can be changed at any time without losing your current configuration. (Horizontal bar charts that have more than the defaulted lines of visible allow you to click through page numbers in the top right to inspect all of your data.)
Default View Type
Choose the bar chart or table view as your default by selecting the bar chart or table icon. This allows you the option of displaying the same data created for the bar chart report in an interactive table. In table view, you can expand and collapse data for further information by clicking the +/- buttons.
Report Summary
Click in the text box to enter your subheading content. This information is a brief set of information you wanted to be relayed about the report; the text you enter will be displayed as it's written while you can include a specified data by adding subheading variables that will update with the rest of the data.
Basic Styling
The subheading section allows for basic styling, including Bold, Italic, and Underlined text as well as the ability to include hyperlinked data.
Subheading Variables
To enter subheading variables within your text, click the + button and choose from the populated list of variables based on the report's content.

X and Y Axis Configuration
X Axis
The X Axis presents the data along the horizontal axis of the graph.
Dropdown options will be populated based on report content that prompt you to chose what field of data by which to group, and when available, what type within that field to display. This is the kind of data that will be represented by the bars in the chart.
You can enter a custom label for the X Axis. The label can include data variables by clicking the + button and selecting a variable that will include data that continually updates. The X Axis label will be displayed beneath the graph

Y Axis
The Y Axis presents the data along the vertical axis of the graph.
Dropdown options will be populated based on report content that prompt you to chose what metric you want to be measured and the type of value that will be displayed. This is how the data is calculated and measured within the chart.
You can enter a custom label for the Y Axis. The label can include data variables by clicking the + button and selecting a variable that will include data that continually updates. The Y Axis label will be displayed up the left side of the chart.

Line Chart Overlay
You may select "I want to overlay a line for another field on the data set" to create a line chart with a different set of data that will overlay the bar chart. The Line Chart Overlay is visible in the chart and its data will be included in hover state details.
Line Chart Overlay On/Off
Toggling Line Chart Overlay on allows you to select an additional dataset to be displayed over the bar chart.
Label
The Line Chart Overlay label will display vertically on the right side of the chart.
Metric
Select the metric by which overlay will measure; count, sum, or average.
Value
Select a value property from the dropdown menu.

Split Data
Split Data On/Off
Toggling Split Data on allows for the bars in your chart to be visually itemized, turning Split Data off displays your data as an individual total.
Split Data Display
If you choose to split data, your display can either be stacked or side-by-side. Stacked data shows itemized data, differentiated by color, stacked within a single bar. Side-by-side will create an individual bar for each item, differentiated by color, sitting next to each other within the same dataset.
Number of Series Allowed
You can limit the number of series allowed to be represented in your chart to prevent crowded visualizations when datasets contain more information than would be visually legible. (Max 150)
Sort By
You can select to sort by split data (Split Name) when split is enabled, or sort by default.

Sort Order
Sort by bar size, selected field, or select default for bars to sort in their original order, then choose ascending or descending.

Color Set
Choose from the offered color sets the color scheme you want to be reflected in your bar chart. Split Data will also reflect this color scheme. Color legends and details information appear when you hover over any data in the bar.

Bar Chart Tips
-
If you create a horizontal bar chart and the data maxes out the graph, you can click through pages to see additional data
-
Horizontal bar charts also allows you to choose for up to 75 bars to show without hindering the legibility of the labels on the vertical axis.
-
Hovering over data in your bar chart will display a legend with further details, including itemized amounts.
-
Clicking on the report header will produce the inspection drawer as it does for all cards, but also offers the ability to click on an individual bar or in an itemized portion of a bar to display a report below with data specific to your selection. When you select a specific bar, a legend with the corresponding information will appear on the chart in the inspection drawer.
-
Clicking on a label in a bar chart legend allows you to show/hide that content type in the chart.
Once you have completed the visualization section, click save in the report editor to save your report. If you want to make changes to other sections of the report editor, return to Creating & Editing Reports.
