Intelligence360 Reports consider data first and visualization second. That means you can establish the data you want to see and then decide which visual(s) represent it best. Since data come first, start with Creating & Editing Reports, then come back to this article to set up the Line Chart visualization.
Line chart reports allow you to build a line chart displaying custom content in an easily digestible visualization of data. Line Chart Reports offer more than their titular graphic, they also offer itemized graph details. Hovering over data sets and lines within a line chart produces written, itemized details.
Creating a Line Chart Card
Line Chart cards require more information than Headline and Top Content cards as they produce more visualized data and offer more detail directly in the dashboard.

Card Basics
Visualization Type: Line Chart
In the Visualization section of the card editor, select Line Chart as the visualization type.
Default View Type
Choose the line chart or grid view as your default by selecting the line chart or grid icon. This allows you the option of displaying the same data created for the line chart report in a grid, or table, view.

Card Summary
Click in the Add Card Summary text box to enter your subheading content. This information is a brief set of information you wanted to be relayed about the card; the text you enter will be displayed as it's written while you can include a specified data by adding subheading variables that will update with the rest of the data.
Subheading Variables
To enter subheading variables within your text, click the + button and choose from the populated list of variables based on the card's content.
Basic Styling
The subheading section allows for basic styling, including Bold, Italic, and Underlined text as well the ability to include hyperlinked data.

X and Y Axis Configuration
X Axis
The X Axis presents the data along the horizontal axis of the graph.
Dropdown options will be populated based on card content that prompts you to choose what field of data by which to group, and when available, what type within that field to display. This is the kind of data that will be represented by the lines in the chart.
You can enter a custom label for the X Axis. The label can include data variables by clicking the + button and selecting a variable that will include data that continually updates. The X Axis label will be displayed beneath the graph

Y Axis
The Y Axis presents the data along the vertical axis of the graph.
Dropdown options will be populated based on card content that prompt you to chose what metric you want measured and the type of value that will be displayed. This is how the data is calculated and measured within the chart.
You can enter a custom label for the Y Axis. The label can include data variables by clicking the + button and selecting a variable that will include data that continually updates. The Y Axis label will be displayed up the left side of the chart.

Bar Chart Underlay
You may select "I want to underlay a bar for another field on the data set" to create a bar chart with a different set of data that will underlay the line chart. The Bar Chart Underlay is visible in the chart and its data will be included in hover state details.
Bar Chart Underlay On/Off
Toggling Bar Chart Underlay on allows you to select an additional dataset to be displayed under, or behind, the line chart.
Metric
Select the metric by which overlay will measure; count, sum, or average.
Label
The Bar Chart Underlay label will display vertically on the right side of the chart.

Split Data & Sort Order
Split Data On/Off
Toggling Split Data on allows for the lines in your chart to be visually itemized, turning Split Data off displays your data as an individual total.
Number of Series Allowed
You can limit the number of series allowed to be represented in your chart to prevent crowded visualizations when datasets contain more information than would be visually legible. (Max 150)

Sort By
You can select to sort by line size, selected field, or default.
Order By
Choose ascending or descending order.

Line Chart Tips:
-Hovering over data in your line chart will display further details, including itemized amounts.
-Clicking on the header will produce the inspection drawer as it does for all reports, but also offers the ability to click on an individual line to display a report below with data specific to your selection. When specific information is selected and opened in the inspection drawer, an anchored legend will appear with itemized details.
-Clicking on a content type in the chart legend allows you to show/hide that content type in the chart. (Only applicable to bar charts and bar chart underlays.)
