Creating Progression reports allows you to create the same visualization of stage changes as is presented in Pipeline Progression...but in an editable report, with specified content, and the ability to display these graphics on a dashboard. Now you can review stage changes over a period of time in different pipeline configurations alongside similar data.
When creating the report, use the Opportunity Progression Sankey Chart template.
Check out this article on Progression for more information on how to read the Progression chart and the data and insight it provides.

Progression Report Configuration
Range

Select your desired date range. For example, relative > in the last > 6 > weeks > from now will create a date range that included pipeline changes in the last six week from now (as "now" changes, so will your date range, so tomorrow will be six weeks from that day). Select the time period that best suits your needs.
The progression chart will only illustrate changes that happen in items that were created prior to the start of the range. Consider it this way, the item has to exist prior to the range in order for the range to track its changes. If you're trying to show changes included created items, check out our flow report.
Included Stages

Select the stages for which you want to track progression. If your org has multiple pipelines you will see stages listed with those pipeline names to ensure that you're selecting stages within the same pipeline for accurate reporting. For example, you can see that the included stages above are all from the (Master, Sales) pipeline.
That's it! Once you have completed the configuration, click save in the report editor to save your report.
