Intelligence360 provides powerful real-time reporting capabilities. We've tried to make it easy to find exactly what you need by searching for specific text by which to filter data. Text filters are based on properties whose type is called String, but are specific to text. This document walks through how to use InsightSquared's text filters.
Filter by Text
If you have added a text filter to a report, you'll be able to type into a search bar to find text data from the related property you're looking for. Search & select to add one or multiple options to your filter, simply click the X next to an option to remove it.
(If you're filtering a property with a property typed listed as String and seeing a list of options rather than a searchable text bar, you're using a Picklist filter.)
Let's talk interactive reporting, using the Account Name text filter as an example.
Scenario 1: You want a column in your report showing all Account Names.
-
Add the Account Name filter...that's it. (If it's already there, remove any listed Account Names by clicking the X next to the name until there are no names listed in the filter.)
-
By not searching for any specific text, you're telling the filter to show all Account Names. All content in the report with Account Name data will be listed in the report and all account names will be listed in the Account Names column.
Scenario 2: You want your report to return only three specific Account Names.
-
In the Account Name filter, scroll the list or type in the name of the first account you want in the report, the search is predictive so as soon as you see the name of the account you're searching for, click on it to add it to the list of Account Names.
-
Select the checkmark next to the Account Name until the checkmark is blue, which indicates it has been selected. (Want to remove one? Simply click the X next to the account name to remove it from those being filtered.)
-
Repeat the search process for the other two Account Names.
-
Click Apply, only the three listed Account Names will be returned in the report.
Scenario 3: You have multiple Account Names listed and want to return to All Account Names
-
Open the Account Names filter pill or filter in the report editor.
-
Click Clear Filter, then Apply
Now let's see this filter in action and how quickly we can adjust this report!

Examples
Below are some other common String Text filters, you'll find many throughout the Platform. The functionality of using the text filters will remain the same, but the available search results will change per property.

Where does the filter information come from?
While the filters might seem like magic, they are actually based on property mapping! Whether a property was mapped in from your CRM or you added a custom property from Salesforce or Hubspot , they all have a specific property mapping configuration that tells the Platform where to get the data and what to do with it. You don't have to look at this just to use a filter, but it's always nice to know where this "magic" data comes from!
To view a property's mapping configuration:
-
Click Applications and select your CRM
-
Select Content Settings at the top of the page
-
Select the Content Policy that houses the property you're looking for. (For example, opportunity stage names are under the "Salesforce Opportunities" policy.)
-
A right drawer will open for that policy, select Content Properties tab
-
Hover over a property to show the "edit" option, click edit.
What determines the filter type:
-
The Property Label will match the filter name. (Ex. Account Name)
-
The property Type determines the kind of filter that will be produced (you can read more about property types in either of these Salesforce or Hubspot articles).
-
Text filters are String properties, so you'll see String for this type of filter.
-
-
Output Display Format determines how the data is shown, the Output Display Options are determined by the Property Type selected above.
-
Default Formatting will display the data as it's displayed in the CRM from which it was mapped. In this case, the data will display as a searchable Text filter with no extra effort on your part! Thanks, property mapping!

Read Property determines where the Platform will find this information in the CRM from which it was mapped. [Account Name (Name)]
The red arrows below show each of the above fields in a property map that play a part in determining the filter type and its data:
