Intelligence360 provides powerful real-time reporting capabilities. We've tried to make it easy to find exactly what you need. One of the most common reporting needs is to focus on a specific time period. This document walks through how to use InsightSquared's date filters and gives some examples vs. SFDC reporting to compare.
Date Range Filtering
We've tried to make it easy to get to common date ranges but still allow for flexibility on how to look at data. Relative date filters let you figure out things like:
What's closing this quarter?
What's closing next week?
What closed last week?
What's closing in the next two weeks?
What's closed in the last 60 days?
This document will walk through all the options available and how to use them to best effect.
"This"
Filter to "This" - will always show items matching the appropriate period interval (day/month..etc). Note, the calculated range will always be shown on the widget
After selecting "this month" I can see the calculated Range - Feb 1st to Feb 28 2022. (And now you know when this document was updated!)
After specifying a close date filter, the filter pill will have a darker background. (Light background filter pills are visible columns, but not filtered.)

"In the last"
Filter to "in the last" {x weeks}. (Note SFDC does not support multiple intervals like this - in the next 3 weeks isn't possible)
There are three additional options here, let's provide some examples.
Note: The calculated range is always displayed on the widget.
-
"From Now" - calculate a week based on "now" so if it's Tuesday, it would be this Tuesday to last Tuesday. What you'd expect if you said: "We've met with them since Tuesday last week".
-
"From This week" - Sunday at 12:00 AM to Saturday at 12:00pm. This will include both past and future dates because it's covering the whole week. What you'd expect if you were talking to someone and said: "We met with them this week".
-
"From last week" - Sunday at 12:00 AM to Saturday at 12:00pm of the week prior to this week. What you'd expect if you were talking to someone and said: "We met with them last week".

After specifying a close date filter, the filter pill will have a darker background. (Light background filter pills are visible columns, but not filtered.)
"In the next"
Filter to "in the next" {2 weeks}
There are three additional options here, let's provide some examples.
Note: The calculated range is always displayed on the widget.
-
"From Now" - calculate a week in the future based on "now" so if it's Tuesday, it would be this Tuesday to next Tuesday. What you'd expect if you said: "We are meeting with them before Tuesday next week or the week after".
-
"From This week" - Sunday at 12:00 AM to Saturday at 12:00pm at the end of the interval. This will include both past and future dates because it's covering the whole week. What you'd expect if you were talking to someone and said: "We met with them this week or next".
-
"From last week" - Sunday at 12:00 AM to Saturday at 12:00pm starting next week at Sunday 12am. What you'd expect if you were talking to someone and said: "We are meeting with them next week or the week after".

"More than"
Filter to "more than " {1 week}
There are two additional options here, let's provide some examples.
Note: The calculated range is always displayed on the widget.
-
"ago" - start the period two weeks from now looking backwards, what you'd expect if you said: "Who have we not heard from in more than two weeks?"
-
"from now" - start the period two weeks ago looking forwards, what you'd expect if you said: "What is closing more than 2 weeks from now?

"Between" (Custom Date Range)
Filter to "between" {specified dates}
Note: The calculated range is always displayed on the widget.
Select between and specify the data range by selecting a "Start of day" date to "End of day" date to filter information between the start of the first date and the end of the last. What you would expect if someone said: "What opps were closed between February 4 and February 18 2022?"

Compared to Salesforce
Let's look at a couple of examples from Salesforce:
Salesforce only provides fixed intervals.

We can replace this with "In the last 7 days from now":

Another example:

We can replace this with "This quarter" or "In the next 2 quarters starting this quarter".
