Intelligence360 provides several options to improve the usability of hierarchies generated. These controls allow you to show only the people you want to manage with Intelligence360.

Hierarchy Settings
-
To access Hierarchy Settings go to Settings > Hierarchies
-
Here you will see the full list of hierarchies deployed for your instance. If you see nothing here, click "+add" to add a hierarchy. To learn more about which hierarchy you should use, read this.
-
Once a hierarchy is enabled (the toggle is set to on), click on a hierarchy to open the details and edit the settings. In this example, we've selected a "user/manager" hierarchy. Click on Hierarchy Configuration to open more settings.
Advanced Hierarchy Settings
There are two advanced hierarchy settings that allow you to further control the setup and visibility of your hierarchy. Both of these settings are optional.
1) Default Root Node
The "root node" of a hierarchy is the top of the hierarchy. Generally, this will be a CRO or VP of Sales, whoever is responsible for all revenue for the company.
Under Default Root Node, type a name into the search to find the user you would like to be at the top of the hierarchy. When the user pops up, click on the name to set the default root node.

You can now click the Preview tab to see your selected user at the top of the hierarchy. Preview will show you exactly how the hierarchy will show to your users, it's an invaluable tool to understand what your users will see.

2) Exclude Nodes and their Subordinates
Sometimes you'll find that different parts of the organization report to the CRO or VP of Sales but don't participate in the revenue process (i.e. Finance or Operations). This can clutter a hierarchy and cause confusion for users.
Exclude Nodes allows you to "prune" the hierarchy tree and show fewer users. In our example above, let's remove Paul Eriksson.
Paul has two direct reports, so we should remove them as well.

Click the Hierarchy Setup tab to return to the settings. Under Exclude nodes and their subordinates, search for the user you'd like to remove and select them. Repeat this process for each user you want to remove.

Now let's open the Preview tab again to see the results; you can see that Paul has been removed!

Click Save and the hierarchy will be immediately updated for all users.
These features should allow you to easily create a clean hierarchy for your executives.
