InsightSquared allows goals to be set for any level of any hierarchy. For most teams, this means your hierarchy will change over time (new employees, existing employees, re-orgs., etc). This document describes how the most common hierarchy changes impact the different hierarchy types.
You can learn more about hierarchy types, and which one you should use, here.
Common Hierarchy Changes:
1) You add a new employee to your hierarchy
When you add a new employee, you may need to make changes to your goals (depending on type).
-
CRM Role Hierarchy
-
No action required, the employee will automatically be assigned the goal for their assigned role, and they will automatically show up in the hierarchy at the correct level.
-
-
CRM User/Manager Hierarchy
-
The employee manager ID field must be populated. (This will update the hierarchy picker.)
-
Goals will not automatically be assigned, they must be added for the employee.
-
-
Custom CSV User/Manager Hierarchy
-
The CSV that populates your hierarchy must be updated and the CSV re-uploaded.
-

2) You remove an employee from your hierarchy
When you remove an employee, you'll need to make changes to your goals (depending on type).

-

-
-
Custom CSV User/Manager Hierarchy
