Forecast automation is a feature in Intelligence360 that allows admins to configure actions to add, remove, or update an opportunity in a forecast.

Setting Up Forecast Automation

Go to Settings > Actions and either add new action or select an existing action to update. (If you're creating a new action, check out Creating and Configuring Actions to set it up.)
NOTE: Forecast Automation can be added to any OPPORTUNITY action definition

In the Prompt section, ensure the prompt is configured as you see below, then proceed to set up the action prompt as needed. For auto run actions ensure the correct auto run settings are configured. (Again, if you're new to Actions, check out our Actions articles.)

Forecast Selection
Here you select the goal and other necessary information to properly update your forecast. Your selections here will control which forecast this piece of content is updated in.

Select a goal: The forecastable goal (should be one option)

Select segments: The segments this action should attempt to update this opp for
Note: If the opp does not match the segment filters the action will skip updating the opp in that segment

Select forecast types: The forecast types to add this opp to in the given segments

Select forecast period types: The period type(s) to add this opp to in the given segment and forecast type intersection

How does it work?
How does the period get selected?
The forecast period gets automatically selected by selecting the period that matches the value of the attainment date field as configured in the segment.
How does the amount get selected?
The forecast amount gets automatically selected by selecting the amount field from the goal calculation field as configured in the segment.
Which forecast will be updated?
The opportunity owners’ forecast will be updated per the above settings.
